Content and context

Established as the Board of Research Studies in 1920 in the wake of the introduction of the Ph.D., its name changed to the Board of Graduate Studies in 1966. The Board exists to admit graduate students and oversee their academic progress and approve the award of degrees in respect of graduate study or contribution to learning.

BOGS 1 was transferred by Sarah Pickard, Principal Clerk, Board of Graduate Studies, on 6 Oct. 2000 and 26 August 2005; BOGS 2 also by Sarah Pickard, on 11 June 2001; BOGS 3, papers up to 1996, by Katherine Brown, Fund Secretary, Board of Graduate Studies, on 26 Jan. 2001, papers from 1997-2011, by Kathy White, Student Registry, on 12 March 2012; BOGS 4/1 by the Board on 27 January 2004 and added to by Natalie Adams, Churchill College Archives on 13 May 2009.
