General and official correspondence regarding the Cash Account, including correspondence on cash office inspections; superannuation arrangements; meal vouchers; cash duty instructions; National Insurance stamps' receipts; requests for payment of invoices from outside firms; reference sheets regarding the advancement of salary; imprest arrangements; revised salary scales; non-industrial salaries and wages; the General Suspense Account ledgers; and revised night duty and shift disturbance allowances. There are copies of letters from the Royal Greenwich Observatory requesting payment of outstanding invoices, and correspondence with the Westminster Bank, Hailsham, regarding accounts. The papers also include addresses and telephone numbers of the Principal Director of Accounts and officers at home establishments; a memorandum from the Admiralty regarding the revised classification of Navy votes; and a reference sheet from the Admiralty regarding cash security.
