Three books containing the signatures and addresses of visitors to the Royal Observatory and the dates of their visit:
(1) Visitors' Book for 1877 to June 1897. The period from 1877 to 14 August 1881 is covered by two written sheets inside the front cover, compiled by H.H. Turner on 9 February 1886, and is the only record existing of these visitors. The book includes the signatures of the members of the Board of Visitors who were at the Royal Observatory for Visitation Day.
(2) Visitors' Book for 29 June 1897 to 13 December 1913. During this period, the Visitors' signatures were entered by the clerk and therefore are not originals.
(3) Visitors' Book for 5 July 1933 to 26 April 1951.
