Content and context

Sunspot drawings dated 11 March 1858 - 9 February 1863 and 1 January 1866 - 18 December 1867. There are notes throughout on the development, size and grouping of the sunspots, and tables showing the number of sunspots each year. A note at the end of the 1863 entries records that 'Heliograph removed to Kew Observatory, and pictures numbered again from May 6th 1863, in another volume'.
