Content and context

A letter from Edgar L. Pilditch, Longbourne, Stevens and Powell, to Sir Richard Woolley, 10 March 1966, regarding dates for the Trustees' meeting in May, and enclosing a copy of a letter from Mrs J.O. Paton, Science Research Council, 7 March 1966, regarding Mr Sterling's proposal to erect a telescope in the grounds of the Radcliffe Observatory. There is also a copy of the reply from A.R. Hewerdine, Private Secretary to the Astronomer Royal, 15 March 1966, giving Woolley's views on the dates of the meeting and stating his support for the proposals made in Mrs Paton's letter.
