An annotated paper, marked 'not for publication', giving methods to be used by a traveller, equipped only with a reasonably accurate watch and the 'Nautical Almanac', to find his position by I) the time taken for the Sun to rise, and II) the interval between sunrise and sunset. The paper is dated at the end 11 October 1942.
