Content and context

A letter from M.H. Jeffery, 28 March 1968, regarding an enclosed copy of a letter from D.S. Brown, Sir Howard Grubb, Parsons and Co. Ltd, 26 March 1968, with accompanying notes, concerning the primary mirror blank specification received by the company and the changes affecting the Root Mean Square smoothness and stress level. There is also Redman's reply of 29 March, outlining his view that the wording of the Owens-Illinois Inc. contract cannot be changed, and giving his opinion on the optical surface of a large mirror and allowance for errors.
