Two letters from W.V.D. Hodge, Royal Society, 13 November 1959 and 25 January 1960, enclosing a copy of Hodge's letter to R. Woolley, 13 November 1959, concerning matters discussed by the Advisory Council on Scientific Policy. In his letters, Hodge reveals private information on the progress of the Anglo-Australian Telescope, the political considerations underlining Menzies' 'cooling off' the Commonwealth telescope, and his ideas on a solution.
