Planisphere instrument (/1a) in a linen case; together with a label (/1b) and a cutting of Isaiah, 40. 25-31 mounted on a card (/1c). The horizon and calendar disc is mounted in a wooden block. The start chart disc is rotated with a crank handle via a circular rack and pinion gear. Reputedly constructed by Edward Walter Maunder.

Pinhole camera. The light tight box is of an inner and outer sliding construction to allow alteration of the angle of view. A rack for a plate is attached to the outer part of the box. There is no shutter. The camera is known to have been in the possession of Edward Walter Maunder.
