1 Notebook entitled "Solar Eclipse Expedition 1886 Aug. 29". The contents are: equipment inventory; notes on instructions to observers in 1883; and notes entitled 'Factors for Instrumental Errors for Grenada', 'Convention with Dr Schuster', and 'Directions for the Erection of the Disks'. The volume is largely blank.

2 Volume of photographs entitled ''Album of the ''Norse King'' Eclipse Cruise to Vadso, Varanger Fjord, Norway; July 25th to August 24th, 1896'' printed by the Autotype Company. There is a forward by Edward Walter Maunder, Joseph Lunt and Thomas Simpson together with an itinerary and partial contents listing. Folios 6-8 are missing. Images include passengers on deck; other vessels; coastal landscapes; observing encampment; Laplanders; Fjords;.

1 volume of 97 photographic plates; paper; The plates are detached from the case binding as the adhesive has failed. Makeshift repairs to the binding have been made with heavy duty adhesive tape. Plates 3-10 are discoloured and show some signs of damp and mould damage. There is foxing elsewhere..

5A Letter from Edward Walter Maunder (Eclipse Camp, North-Wets River, Labrador) to his children (no place given). Re the postmark and delivery of the letter; the environment around the camp; their mother and other expedition members have been bitten by insects and are worn down; unloading the ship; the weather and aurora; arrival of the observing equipment; bathing in the lake. Postscript: thanks for their letters; blessings; Frank has ''been simply of immense use to us, and has worked like a Briton''.
