1 The University Main Building, and the Medical School. 355 x 281 mm. A view of the buildings from the Newtown Road, looking over Victoria Park, and showing the east façade of the main building, with the Medical School to the left where building work is in progress.
Poor condition, with much dirt staining and some fading..
2 The University - Main Building. 355 x 280 mm. A view from the south-east of the east façade of the main university building, with part of the Fisher Library visible in the background. The Great Hall is at the right of the building.
Fair condition, some yellowing in from edges..
3 The Fisher Library (from the South West). 355 x 280 mm. A view showing the richly carved stone decorations on the exterior. The building, constructed in a rather ecclesiastical style, was designed by Colonel Vernon and opened in 1910.
Good condition, apart from very slight yellowing at edges..
4 The Fisher Library (from the North West) - Showing the Book Stack. 355 x 280 mm. A view looking up at the rear of the building, with the book-stack to the left. 'The book stack, ... is seven stories in height ... The interior fittings of the stack, lift and staircase are wholly of steel, its floors of thick translucent plate glass, and when the heavy fireproof door is closed the Library is considered to be absolutely fireproof.' (Dallen, 1914, page not recorded).
Fair condition, with some slight staining..
