An album containing photographs measuring 90 x 65 mm., inserted four to a page, with four unused spaces. Four (8/8A, 26/43, 31/38 and 51/52) are duplicates. The clothes and aeroplane shown in 45 and 47 suggest a date about 1930. The majority of the photographs are landscapes and general scenes, and as 3-6, 8-9, 11, 13-15, 18, 21-22, 26, 30-32, 34-35, 37-40, 43 have 'Trinidad' printed with the photograph - 5 and 11 also have titled - it seems probable that most of the collection was produced for commercial use by a local photographer. No. 42 and numbers 45-60 (with the possible exception of 46 and 49) appear to be amateur photographs taken by a resident or visitor. Numbers 50-53, 55-56, 59-60 were probably taken in the same garden, and the same people appear in several of them. Apart for 5 and 11, briefly descriptive captions have been given. Some identifications have been made from published works on Trinidad, but no extensive research has been attempted.
It is possible that this album was purchased by the Library, as the amount £1.50 is pencilled in it.
