| Content and context |
103 x 156 mm. Head and shoulders profile portrait showing arrangement of headdress. The caption continues: 'an off-shoot of the Zulus. They live in the Richmond area, Natal. They are very fond of bright colours, and are very much decorated with beads and bright wools. The hair is treated (stretched and twisted with threads covered with fat and red ochre). They are rather looked down upon by the pure Zulus.' |
