The caption continues: 'visiting Durban from the Stanger district, wearing the married woman's special skirt of soft black skin, kilted, numerous necklaces, and beaded headdress on her finely plaited hair, rubbed with fat and clay. The children wear only a girdle and necklace of beads. 1948.'
