Extent and Medium 50 images in 1 volume; The album is in very poor condition due to water damage. The album pages are curled by damp, but the photographs are otherwise in good condition.

An album containing sepia prints, each 200 x 150 mm. The prints show general views of Indian scenes and architecture. The cover is lettered 'Royal Colonial Institute Album Competition. Presented by the Government of India'. Inside is an inscription: 'These photographs, illustrating life and scenes in India, are presented in the hope that they will help to make the land and the people of the Indian Empire better known and understood. [signed] Atul C. Chatterjee High Commissioner for India'. The prints are captioned in white ink.
