| Content and context |
|
Collection of albumen prints by various photographers. The prints are of various sizes and show views of Europe, Malta in 1860 (numbers 12-26), Middle East and India. Numbers 93-145 relate to a visit to India in 1880, although the prints themselves are views taken in the 1860s mainly by Samuel Bourne. The majority of the prints have handwritten captions.
The collection was presented in May 1962 by Richard Kneeshaw of St Asaph, whose grandparents had owned it, through Miss Diana Hartley.
