110 x 80 mm. A group photograph of FIDS staff. FIDS is an acronym of the 'Falkland Islands Dependency Survey', which was the name of the British Antarctic Survey in its earlier days. The caption on the reverse, written in blue ink, continues: 'L to R, Rosemary Graves (ex Guard), Frank Elliott, Margaret Northwood, Colleen Rowlands'. Frank Elliott, after working in Graham land for the Survey, was SECFIDS (the Survey Secretary) in Stanley from 1953 to 1959. 'A tough, stocky and forthright Yorkshireman... Competent, hardworking and just'. (Anderson, 1957, p. 20) TBC. He also recalls 'secretaries in the FIDS office, each one equally attractive'. (Anderson, 1957, p. 22).
