Content and context

180 x 140 mm. (vignetted oval print). Showing a group of Army Cadets poling a raft (composed of wooden barrels strapped to timbers) across a stretch of water. A triangular block and tackle on the craft supports the barrel of a cannon. A photograph probably taken during a course at the Woolwich Militay Academy. The print is stamped: 'Photo. Estab. War Dept.'
