Content and context

Colonel Robert Alastair Hay was stationed at Gibraltar as an Artillery officer during World War II.

Two notebooks, February-June and June-September 1942, in which Hay's Spanish cook kept the accounts for Engineer House where three senior officers and guests were staying. There is also a page listing rates of pay of trades employed in the South Division.
