Newscuttings from 'The Times' and other publications regarding, among other subjects, fighting between the British and Dervishes in Sudan and on the Nile, Germany's involvement in East Africa, including the Emin Pacha Relief Expedition, H.M. Stanley's expedition, relations between Spain and Morocco, the Anglo-Portuguese dispute over the Delagoa Bay Railway, missionaries in East Africa, the slave trade, relations between Italy and Abyssinia, the British South Africa Company, and affairs in the Congo, Egypt and South Africa. The cuttings are from 1889 with a few exceptions. The pages and cover of the volume are mounted in plastic sleeves.
