In October 1904 the Librarian of the Royal Colonial Institute sent circulars to all the Empire territories requesting a copy of their seal and coat of arms. Fifty-eight replies were received, some including an impression of the seal (Canada and Tasmania sent full-sized wax impressions), and others including specially-made drawings.
A collection of letters, pictures and two seals received in reply to the R.C.I. circular of 1904, with later additions, including booklets, newscuttings, newsletters and volumes. A summary list describing the earlier material is in the first box.
Received from various sources.
