Alfred Rainbow's background is not known.
'Developments in colonial status in the British Empire, 1900-22', 84 pages. The typescript is bound in a light blue cloth, with the title, coat and arms and 'The George Ludolf Siddle Prize 1923' on the front. The essay is described as 'an attempt to ascertain and to appreciate the changes which have taken place since the beginning of the present century in the relations between the various component parts of the British Empire. Treating the Empire as a united whole both the internal and external aspects of these changes are considered.'
