Content and context

The memorial is attributed to Edward Langton, Richard C[oomplin], Ch[arles] Townshend and William Price, Deputies to the Four Tellers of his Majesty's Exchequer.

The memorial is addressed to the Lords of the Treasury. It outlines the case for the provision of more working space and additional clerks for the work of the Offices of the Tellers in the light of the increased workload resulting from the passing of the Act of Parliament for the Relief of the American Loyalists.

The provenance of the collection is unknown.
