Gerald Sanger, an English newspaper director, was a friend of Major Denzil Stanley, the adopted son of the explorer Sir Henry Morton Stanley (1841-1904).
An unpublished account of H.M. Stanley's life drawing on letters and diaries provided by Major Denzil Stanley, c. 1970, 283 pages. A short introduction has been added by D.H. Simpson, R.C.S. Librarian, May 1987.
