George Macartney (1737-1806), Earl Macartney, was Governor of the Cape of Good Hope, 1796-1798.
An affidavit on the capture of the Spanish privateer 'La Union' by the English privateer 'Indispensible' on 19 February 1798, heard before the Earl Macartney at the Cape of Gold Hope.
