|
Francis Henry Harper (1877-1939) was born on 2 March 1877. He joined the staff of the Royal Niger Company, and became Private Secretary to Sir George Goldie. He left the Company to join the staff of the Colonial Office on 1 January 1900, and for 28 years was involved with the Royal West African Frontier Force and the King's African Rifles. From 1928 until his retirement in 1937 he was Secretary of the 'Discovery' Committee. He died on 29 June 1939.
