7 Land tenure and documents of title. This file includes notes on land tenure in Malaya compiled by Hugh Bryson, and correspondence upon the subject exchanged between Sir George Maxwell, M. Mortimer, and Norman Rowlstone Jarrett, who had published an article discussing it in 'Malaya', Mar. 1952.

9 Malayan Ports Congestion. Material relating to deliberations of the Federal Ports Committee and the Colonial Office regarding the development of Singapore, Port Swettenham, Penang and Malacca. It includes representations from commercial organisations stating that congestion was hindering trade, and in particular the import of consumer goods, building materials and fertilisers. Also included is a copy of 'Report on the major ports of Malaya' by D.F. Allen, representative for the Far East of the U.K. Ministry of Transport (70 sheets).

10 Alma Estate. Material relating to the Alma Estate, which was located on the mainland of Province Wellesley, opposite Penang Island, and first established by Robert Wilson. The file consists of notes recording land grants in the district and two sale agreements dated 1868 and 1871. The 1868 document contains a report on the agricultural and financial condition of the estate. The file also contains a copy of a Straights Settlements government paper 'Correspondence upon the subject of the Indian Immigration Bill' (1876).
