Malcolm Bond Shelley joined the Malayan Civil Service in 1902. His appointments included acting Colonial Secretary, Straits Settlements; British Resident, Perak; and acting Chief Secretary to the Government Federated Malay States. He retired in 1935.
An account of the important part played by interpreters in the administration of justice, illustrated by the example of three Chinese interpreters. The file includes a letter from Shelley to Hugh Bryson (2 copies, 6 sheets).
