A detailed account of Guy Hutchinson's two periods of employment as an assistant on Malayan rubber plantations. The memoirs include descriptions of the living and working conditions of the European assistants and work force, labour relations, and all aspects of the running of the estates. The file contains correspondence with Hugh Bryson, who has made minor factual amendments to the text.
