Content and context

Autobiographical note. Memoir by A.R. Chancellor of his service with the colonial police in Barbados and the Straights Settlements (7 sheets), with correspondence relating to its acquisition. There is a second brief note entitled 'My two adventures with crocodiles', probably also written by Chancellor. The file contains two photographs, the first of Chancellor as C.P.O. Malacca [Melaka], taken in 1905, and the second of a Melakan police constable in 1903.
