Subjects include the depreciation of currency, the state of trade, the postal service, the administration of justice, staffing changes in the public service, the defence of the colony including discussion of the fortification of Singapore, land tenure, municipal government, burial regulations, representation on the Legislative Council, regulation of the Chinese societies, liability of public servants, the appointment of magistrates, and the colony's contribution to defence (circa 240 sheets). There are also copies of the 'Report to the members of the Singapore Branch of the Straits Settlements Association' for the years 1895, 1899 and 1901.
