196 x 145 mm. A view looking along a tree-lined avenue in Uitenhage with the towers of the Town Hall and the Dutch Church on the far side of the street. Situated on the Zwartkops River about 17 miles north-west of Port Elizabeth, the town was the headquarters for the whole administration of the eastern frontier under J.G. Cuyler in the early nineteenth century. |
