Emil Otto Hoppé was born in Munich in 1878 and moved to England in 1900. He joined the Royal Photographic Society in 1903. This body awarded him a fellowship in 1907 enabling him to set up his own studio. He died in London in 1972.
145 x 199 mm (mounted on card). A head and shoulders portrait of Charles Alma Baker (1857-1941) owner of rubber estates and tin mines in Malaya, and sheep and cattle stations in Australia and New Zealand. This portrait is inscribed to Oliver Marks.
