States that he is in Cambridge again, 'reading in a lazy way, and taking a little real holiday.' Finds that he cannot take a holiday in London, and declares that he craves uniformity in his life. Is glad to hear from Dr Bateson and Mrs C. Bowen among others 'that everything went off charmingly at Rugby. Reports that his hay fever 'has been wonderfully absent' that year. States that he wrote to Mrs Howell, and that he did not happen to find anyone who knew about Oban. Announces that he is going to London on the following Monday, and gives his address on Savile Row. Reports that everybody speaks to him in praise of AS's wife. Declares that he has been investigating Spiritualism, and asks if she is interested.
