RJ did 'Jeremie [James Amiraux Jeremie] an unconscious injustice which in common fairness I should rectify - you asked me what he had done to exhibit himself as a divine and I really had no proofs to produce [.] It seems however that in some able articles in the Encyclopedia Metropolitana he has written a history of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th centuries of the church'.
