WW met John and Margaret Herschel in London - 'a great pleasure to me, as it always is; and the unhappiness of parting with him is almost done away with by looking at the views and feelings with which he goes and the temper in which she accompanies him' [their departure to the Cape of Good Hope]. WW would like to talk to RJ about his 'project of resigning the tuition of which I have spoken to you before. My wish to do so grows upon me - the business remains as tiresome as ever'.
