Churchill College was founded in 1958 to pursue excellence in teaching and research with a special emphasis on science, engineering and technology. Sir John Cockcroft was its first Master.

This series of papers covers a wide range of issues in relation to the founding of the college, and includes photographs.

Section 12 was re-typed in 1989 to incorporate additional material from the college stores.
