This series divides into four parts: L1-6 contain original papers of governments and other non-commercial organisations; L7-10 consist of maps, plans, photographs, artwork and newspapers, mainly relating to Jardine, Matheson & Co., but including some general material; L11-13 contain secondary material regarding the company and its archive; and L14-15 are miscellaneous papers unconnected to the other series in the archive.
Most of the documents were drawn from previously uncatalogued material in the archive. Some items were transferred from Series F.
