Content and context

Manuscript and press copies of correspondence of Jardine, Matheson & Co. sent from Hong Kong, London, Edinburgh and elsewhere regarding various accounts. The principal correspondent is William Keswick, London. The other correspondents include C.W. Dickenson; W.S. Gresson; Sir R.W.B. Jardine; Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong; Messrs J.C. & A. Steuart; J.J. Keswick; Thomas Keswick; and James Steuart. The letters are accompanied by various accounts, including accounts current of Sir Robert Jardine Bart, 1901-1906, and Mrs A.S. Keswick, 1902-1904, with Jardine Matheson, Hong Kong. There is also one envelope of correspondence regarding the J.J.J. Keswick Trust. The envelope is numbered 6, and is labelled 'Accounts & Correspondence 1901-1911'.

The documents were formerly part of the Chairman's private historical papers held in Matheson & Co. Ltd's strongroom.
