Content and context

Manuscript letters from Andrew Jardine, 3 Lombard Street, London, to Joseph Jardine, Hong Kong, regarding the purchase of Castlemilk, Dumfries. There is also one letter from Andrew Jardine to Joseph and Robert Jardine, and one letter from Alexander Perceval, London, to Joseph Jardine, Hong Kong. The letters are accompanied by five of the original envelopes. There are also two enclosed documents: a copy of the account current of Andrew Jardine with Matheson & Co., London, 31 December 1857, and a list of remittances of Andrew Jardine from Jardine, Matheson & Co., 1853-1859.
