Two documents regarding the claim made by Captain Braz Joaquim Botelho against the Phoenix Insurance Office of Calcutta, with regard to damage sustained by the brig 'Eliza' during its passage from Macao to Singapore: (1) a note by Jardine, Matheson & Co., agents of the Phoenix Insurance Office, dated Canton, 6 October 1832, agreeing to submit the case to arbitration, and (2) a copy of the conclusion of the referees, 16 January 1833, that the documents that have been produced are insufficient to substantiate the claim. 2 items. |
