This series contains a wide range of legal documents relating to Jardine, Matheson & Co. and related companies and individuals.
The series consisted originally of fourteen boxes of miscellaneous, partially-listed material. Additional documents from the uncatalogued section of the archive were added during cataloguing.
In arranging the records, effort has been made wherever possible to maintain the original order and grouping of the documents. As a result, there is some degree of overlap between the contents of the series.
