Content and context

A small set documents from France, mainly regarding the silk trade, including some items in French. The papers include fragments of a sketch of Jardine, Matheson & Co.'s consignment account to Milsom & F. Poy, Lyon, 1859; a table of imports of foreign silks to France during 1848-1860; and a table of the approximate total production of silk for the seasons 1872-1873 to 1879-1880 by Chapuisat & Milsom, Lyon, 22 June 1880.
