John Hancock son of John Hancock of Cambridge with the consent of his father puts himself apprentice to James Metcalfe of Cambridge for a term of six years. An increasing weekly sum is to be paid by James Metcalfe to the father to provide the son with food and lodging. Witness: Henry Markham. On the back are two receipts for the two portions of the sum mentioned paid by the father signed by James Metcalfe. Witnesses: Henry Markham, Charles Wootton.
