Instrument with regard to the alienation of certain property, probably belonging to the Cathedral of Our Lady at Nimes, France

Notice is taken of a certain gift probably made by a farmer of the city of Nimes to Jean Bagunon. A certain house is mentioned in the city of Nimes in the street called La Correfarie. A second gift is mentioned of Falquetin Barner of Nimes, which the Lord de Blandiac without guile or fraud released and confirmed, agreeing upon a certain sum to be paid for his consent (laudimium) to the transfer of the property, which consisted of a house and a vine adjoining. The Lord de Blandiac gave up his rights to the house and vine, and certain parties in mutual relationship (coninges, perhaps a lord and his vassals), who had paid the sum, entered into possession. The parties apparently received the right to alienate, exception being made of certain religious books and places and persons, certain rights being retained by the lord. For security the Lord of Blandiac pledged the furniture of his mansion, and apparently also agreed that the mansion could be occupied by force until the complete observance of the agreement. The Lord de Blandiac took an oath not to say or do anything contrary to the agreement. The document, which has been used in binding, is considerably torn, so that important portions of the text are missing. The name of one witness only remains, and this appears to be Stephen Pacholis Nimes.
