Content and context

Memorandum of Nuncupative Will of Edward Shettleworth of Writtle made 7 May 1649 in the presence of Elizabeth George and Ellen Ram and affirmed to John Sawen of Little Waltham, Essex. He gives to Marie his wife a third of his house and land with certain property and the care of his youngest children, to Katherine his daughter a cow and a certain sum; to his son Robert the rest of his goods. The memorandum is signed by John Sawen. Letters of Administration to John Sawen follow. Signed by John Juxon, Registrar. A fragment of the original seal is attached.
