Papers of Siegfried Sassoon

Notebook containing poems written and illustrated by Sassoon, when aged ten. An inscription on the cover reads 'The poems by S.L. Sassoon for Mamsy March 28th 1897'. The poems are largely on nature and include extracts taken from works by John Milton and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. They are transcribed in fair hand with occasional annotations or excising and are illustrated with coloured drawings. Contents include:
