The Fanfare Company was founded by Charles W. Hobson in 1925 as a trade typesetter. Ernest Ingham was manager from the beginning and was associated with the company until 1958. Stanley Morison and Frederic Warde were also briefly involved in the business. It became the Fanfare Press in 1928, after which it printed books and ephemera for other customers as well as advertisers. Fanfare were the proprietors of several typefaces, some designed by Berthold Wolpe. Ingham later became managing director of the London Press Exchange and was in charge of publicity for the Festival of Britain.

Given by Miss Mavin Ingham, 1978.
