Content and context

Many of Stone's letters to Morison enclose proofs of wood-engravings.

Folder 1 = 1941

Folder 2 = 1943

Folder 3 = 1944, with a copy of a letter to H. P. R. Finberg about the arms of the Archbishop of Westminster

Folder 4 = 1945

Folder 5 = 1946

Folder 6 = 1947-1950 with a photograph of Stone cutting on slate taken by B. Crutchley

Folder 7 = 1951-1955, including a letter from Janet Stone. With this is an exchange of letters between Morison and Clifford Bloxham

Folder 8 = 1955: photographs of drinking glasses engraved by Stone for Lord Beaverbrook, with covering letters from his office

Folder 9 = 1957-1961, with a typescript draft of a letter from Morison to Sir Colin Anderson dated 13 Oct. 1961

Folder 10 = 1962-1967, with clippings

Folder 11 = rubbing of a memorial inscription to R. Vaughan Williams, signed in pencil and dated 1959

Folder 12 = proof copy of a printed broadside designed by Morison for William Benton, incorporating engravings by Stone, 1965, with a printed leaf explaining it

Folder 13 = 7 undated cards from Reynolds and Janet Stone, incorporating Stone's wood-engravings. Some are inscribed

Folder 14 = photographs of inscriptions by Stone, including engraved glass

Folder 15 = pen-and-ink artwork for the words 'Daily Mail'

Folder 16 = proofs and pulls of wood-engravings. Some are mounted on larger sheets by Morison. Some are signed, initialled, dated, or inscribed to Morison

Folder 17 (an envelope) = printed leaves, pamphlets, and other ephemera incorporating artwork or wood-engravings by Stone. Among the pamphlets are the programme for the Aldeburgh Festival, 1958, various pamphlets for the National Book League, and a programme for an exhibition of Stone's engravings and designs by the Arts Council, 1959

Folder 18 = Printed order of service for Stone's memorial service, 1979.
