Content and context

Also called the 'manifesto' in correspondence. Included are various proofs and printed copies of the document (some in multiple copies), some with ms. alterations, showing progressive revisions by Frank Francis and Morison. Early versions are headed 'Preliminary announcement'. The earliest proofs are galley proofs; the later ones, in pages. One is with a covering letter from Morison to J. Winter.
